When using paper space and model space I normally dimension in model space. In paper space if I have a plan view that is at a scale of 1:100 and a detail view that is 1:50 the dimensions sizes (font, arrows, spaces) are obviously not uniform. Besides dimensioning in paper space or setting up separate dim layers (one for each scale) is there another easier option in 2006?

2 options :!:

Place your dimensions in PAPER SPACE .... and make sure DIMASSOC is set to 1 or 2 ... before placing you dims.

You only need one DIMSTYLE. :P

OPTION 2.

Place you dims in MODEL SPACE.
But you need to STUP .. MULTIPLE ... DIMSTYLEs ....

Setup your format and text height AND arrows ... and everything else the same ... FOR aLL dimstyleS ....

The ONLY thing that should be different in each DIMSTYLE ... hsould be the OVERALL SCALE FACTOR .....

The scale factor should reflect the scale of the DETAIL or PLAN ....

For example .... 1/4"=1'-0" should be scale factor 48
1/8"=1'-0" should be scale factor 96 ....

If you need help figuring the scales for others let me know.
Hope that helps. :P
