Wheel Mouse panning and zooming - how to turn it on...

Please can anyone help?

I'm used to clicking the wheel - which lets me realtime pan

and

I'm used to rolling the wheel - which lets me realtime zoom

but I've recently got AutoCAd 2004 and it just scrolls???

how do you get it back normal...

(I have tried the pickfirst variable but that isn't the problem)

try...

mbuttonpan=1
This should allow you to pan with the wheel.

As for the zooming w/ the wheel ... this would be a windows driver issue make sure you have the latest ....

cheers for the help, after reading the threads you mentioned I tried my older wheel mouse (a dell one) and the realtime pan/zoom feature has come back.
