I am clueless here ... was given the software, manual, and a drawing and told to go to it! I have NO architectural background. :?
I have come a long way in learning what I need for this particular project, BUT ..... I need to draw a triangle three different side lengths. I can't figure it out! If figured out how to draw one with the same length on all three sides, but ...... not with three different sides.
Can you help? Thank you!

Draw a line a.k.a. one side of the triangle,
Draw circles at each end point of that line,
The circles' radius should be the length of the other two sides,
The intersection of the circles is the third point of the triangle.

type ...
polygon
hit the enter key
type
3
hit the enter key
type
E
hit the enter key
Then click the 1st point and the 2nd point should be the length.
All sides should equal now.
type
s
(for stretch)
and fence one of the points of the triangle and stretch.
Hope that helps.
Later.

VCD has a better idea.
Try his. :P
Much more accurate. :D

Don't need to know architecture; need to know basic geometric constructions which is what VCD demonstrated for you with his post.
Many problems drawing in cadd are resolved via geometry. Crack open a geometry book and do some research.

Now that you mentioned it Csiarch, I was going to post the Pythagorean Theorem. (http://www.jimloy.com/geometry/pythag.htm) The link has an indepth explination of it
But I can't figure out how to write in super script on this forum so i just gave up and posted the circle method... If anyone knows the bbcode
for super script could you fill us in.

VCD: I'm a strong advocate of self-help but it doesn't always "take". I'll keep posting in this manner.
Curious if some people ever wonder how responders who come up with answers ever figure them out in the first place?????
