After our non-autocad proficient computer tech consultant worked on my computer, I lost some funcationality of commands - and i cannot get it back.

Specifically, the program no longer recognizes 'revcloud' or 'xlist'. I tried reloading the Express menu, which is also missing - and it reappeared in the list of menus at the top of my screen, but it does not actually work. All the Express tool buttons are smiley faces.

Please help...

If i type 'expresstool', autocad replies, 'unknown command'. You're suggesting that I reinstall the tools?...How do I do that?

Check if the EXPRESS TOOLS menu is loaded first....if you can't see it in the menu bar...type menuload into the command prompt...if it's not the menugroups list then it will need ot be reloaded..follow these step to do so.

NOTE: If you can not locate the express folder as noted below then it will need to be reinstalled
re-installing will depend on wether you have acad2000 or acad2000i.
Acad2000 - you should find the express tool on the CD...
Acad2000i - You can migrate the express tools see this link...How To migrate the Express Tools (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/item?siteID=123112&id=2879139&linkID=2475323)
OR download and install them .... Dowload it HERE (http://users.tpg.com.au/easaez/downloads/Expres Tools V1-9.exe) ... (This will be up for a short time only)

From the menuload dialog..click browse..and browse to the location of the express folder..usually under the autocad installation..
Example : C:\Program Files\Autocad 2000\Express

In the express folder locate and select acetmain.mnu and click open..this will return you to the menuload dialog...now click LOAD..you should now see an EXPRESS entry in the menu groups list..select it and click the menu bar tab

Now you can choose the location of the express menu with in the menu bar...simply select "above" which other entry you would like to see the express menu and click Insert

Hope this helps

Eddie,

I do have the Express menu loaded (it appears at the top of my screen) - however it is not functioning. All the buttons are smiley faces.
I'm not sure what this means....what should I do?

OK. I got the Express Tools to work by remaking the path in the 'Support File Search Path' to point to the Express Tools folder. The commands are now WORKING!! yeah. BUT, the icons are still smiley faces....any ideas???

They'll be there....it's probably because the support path wasn't there...try restarting autocad if that doesn't try reloading the menu as instructed in my earlier post.
