I HAVE A PROTOTRYPE DIRECTORY WHICH I USE AND COPY OUT DRAWINGS FOR NEW PROJECT. EVERYTIME I COPY OUT A NEW JOB I HAVE TO RENAME EACH SHEET AND RENAME THE XREFS USED TO MATCH THE JOB NUMBER (SEPERATE FOLDER, BUT SAME DIRECTORY). I THEM OPEN EACH SHEET INDIVIDUALY AND REPATH THE XREFS. I FOUND THAT I CAN DO THIS TO ALL THE SHEETS WITH "XREF PATH EDITOR" AT THE SAME TIME. BUT SINCE I HAVE TO CHANGE THE NAME OF THE SHEETS, FOR SOME REASON AUTOCAD DOESN'T FIND THE CORRECT PATH.
ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREAT........
THANKS

cq or absolute path??? i don't follow you. i'll have a set of prototype drawings already create for multiple use. just for example: if the proto's job number is rhwp.dwg (thata's the prefix anyway and there are plenty of a-shts, e-shts, m-shts, ect...) i typicaly take that job and copy into a new directory and give it a job number (in place of the proto prefix). i have a copied directory for each disipline (a,e,s,c,m,p) as well as a "b" directory which has all the xrefs in it (the title block, base, and any others needed) when i rename the job, i match the job number to all the sheets (all having the same prefix and leave the suffix or sheet number) for some reason when i rename the sheets, autocad doesn't recognize the new sheet for the xref path. it still trying to load the xref under the old prefix name (this case rhwp)......... am i missing a step somewhere?
if you can help, that would be cool. anyway, i have been using cad for years, but this web site is new to me. hope this goes through
thanks
