I'm currently working with Autocad 2000 and after using version 2004 for a year its not very pleasing. When plotting in 3d the hidden lines of my drawings are showing up. In model and paper space the lines are remaining hidden until the drawing comes out onto paper. I am unsure of how to keep the printed version looking like the version of the drawing in paper space. If anyone has any tips on how to eliminate the hidden lines of the drawing please hit me back.

Try the "solprof" command.
This command does a 2D trace over your 3D view. Once done, you'll need to move the linework over since it's done over your model. It's your best choice.
:?
Hope that helps

Dude,
you might want to try "Yossa's" suggestion as well.
Although, I'm not sure why he posted it as a new post :?: :?
He might be on to something ....
I just saw this post and never seen this solution before.
"Solprof" has always been my safe bet. Not to mention that you could always enhance the 2D trace with additional linework, in case you forget to model something.
Post back here and let us know which worked for you best.
later guy.

This was my solution:
In paperspace ...
<type>MVIEW
<type>HIDEPLOT
<type>ON
Select viewports
that should hide ya drawing at the plot ...
Otherwise ... not enough printer memory ??
Just some options
I must have pushed the NEW TOPIC button in stead of the REPLY button .... woops
And yes, let us know what worked. We do need feedback.

Thanks a lot guys or girls whichever you may be. I used Yossa's suggestion and it works perfect. This will save me a lot of headache and considering how my boss suggested me to do it would have been quite the headache. Thanks again for the help.

Cancel that reply about working perfect. Yossa's idea worked for the first 2 drawings which were fairly basic shapes, but once I started printing the more complex ones the lines started coming back. If anyone has anymore ideas please pass them on. As for you Yossa, your check is in the mail....

I've been playing around with the "solprof" command and that isn't working either. I am starting to think that I'm not doing it right because when my printed hardcopy is plotted I'm seeing that the part has been copied and pasted in the drawing. This is adding to the confusion that is 3D plotting. This is how I'm doing the solprof command, let me know how if I'm right or wrong.
type "solprof"
select my objects
then it tells me that my object isn't a solid
I answer yes to all of the following propmts
then I plot the drawing.

you used faces .. use solids ...

It makes no difference if I use solids or faces. I have drawings done with both and they still end up the same way. When I use the "solprof" command on drawings made with faces, it turns them into solids once the command has been completed. If you have any other ideas pass them along
