Can anyone tell me if it is possible to copy objects from one autcad file to another. I have done several drawings in different files and want to combine them in one file. Getting frustrated as i have spent ages doing the individual drawings so any help will be appreciated

Open up both drawings and use Ctrl+C (or the Edit pull down menu), but don't bother doing that.
What you are asking for is a text book example of what the glorious and wonderful XREF command will do. Read up on it in HELP, it will save you tons of time, effort, and hard drive space.
You should also read the HELP info on WBLOCK and probably BLOCK.

VCD: Elaborate and tell our student WHY he should use blocks. Maybe this forum can help one person avoid getting into bad habits.
Other way is to choose one drawing and insert the others as blocks THEN save the "master" drawing under a different file name.
Cadd Rule No. 1: "Never draw anything more than once."
Cadd Rule No. 2: "Never throw anything away."
