I am doing some digitizing work on an aerial photo. The realword size of the image is 428meter*345 meter (drawing unit is mm). And I want to plot out a map in 1:500 scale. But I am really confused by the AutoCAD plot setting. No matter what paper size and scale I choose (1mm equals to ** drawing unit), I got the map fit in the paper. But the scale is not the scale I want. How can I output a map in a specified scale instead of drawing some scale bar in the model screen? Hope you can understand what I am asking. Thank you very much for you help.

Hi Smurfy

Make the drawing in youre modelspace ....
When finished, goto youre paperspace (Layout1)
Then make a size of 1189*841 (A0)
Create a viewport, littelbit smaller then the papersize.
When the drawing is made in mm:
<type>mspace
<type>zoom
<type>extend
<type> zoom
<type> 1/500 xp
<type>pspace

Now when you plot the A0, the drawing is scale 1:500
