How can I convert a AutoCAD file to a IGES file. I need to have a solid model for a FE analysis. Who can help me?

While it can't save to IGES, XChangeWorks from Solidworks can load in solid parts from Autocad DWG files, and save them as Sldprt files. It's free to users of Autocad, but can't be downloaded - it's mailed out on a CD, and your info is used by solidworks for marketing purposes.

It does, however, have a simple FE analysis code built in - COSMOSXpress.

Track it down, and see if it's any use to you.
