Maybe I'm missing something .... I have 2002 and under open file I only see ... DWG, DWS, DWT, DXF .... .... so how do you view the DWF in AutoCAD ....

You do need the DWF viewer to view DWFs :?:
I guess you're gonna make download another software to my machine....

If you have AutoCAD installed in your PC, it's no need dwf viewer to view dwf file format.
1. Download the dwf file
2. Open your Internet Explorer
3. Click File -> Open -> Browse -> Your DWF File

It's no need VoloView Express or other DWF Viewer Program
It's easy way, isn't it ?

PDF is Bitmap Graphic. So you will get broken image when zooming it
DWF is Vector Graphic like as DWG. So your image will never get broken image when zooming it 1000 times or more.

Look at the file size, DWF is amazing file format. DWF have only 2 kB of file size. It's becoming 26,84 kB of file size when converted to PDF.

Yeah .. I know the vector concept over the raster issue.
I'm also aware of the issues of why AutoDesk came up with the DWF format ... along with BuzzSaw...

It's just a lazy attitude about switching into another program.
It's bad enough that I have to switch into MicroStation for other projects ... :?

By the way, I did use Volo View to see you sketch .....

It's alright ...

Saw your website too!
Indonesia ... WOW ... talk about a global community here ..... :)

I viewed your drawing through architech's pdf. Unusual to see something drawn in AutoCad that is not a bunch of straight lines and/or constant radius curves (i.e. arc segments).

Was this done for a project or?

Yeah.. I come from Indonesia. Unfortunately, there are frauders here. Just some people, but they are make other Indonesian un trusted :(

BTW, AutoCAD is really great design program. It can used for architecture, machine, electrical, artwork, etc.

Look at my 3D DWF. This is artwork :

TotalDesain: You've used a term (leisure time) that most of the rest of us are not accustomed to.

Dreibelbis: Don't take this wrong but the sooner you shed your mantle of low self-esteem, the better your life will be.

Also remember that no one is born "technologically literate". You are simply presently at a stage where experience and exposure haven't been as yet sufficient to make you feel otherwise. Everyone has to "pay their dues"; some have already paid more than you have. No one ever gets done paying. The ones that think they have wind up working for the government.

Down the road, you can enjoy the satisfaction of helping someone with less experience along to better understanding.

I'm running ACAD 2K which doesn't support DWF. :(
VoloView seems to have been laid to rest, but I see Autodesk has a new viewer.
I really wasn't familiar with the DWF format before and like the small file sizes. I would like to be able to send DWFs to others, so, does anyone have experience of a free (or very cheap) DWF writer?

Whoops! I just read about DWFs in Omura's ACAD 2K.
I'd still be interested in other DWF writers anyway.

Use your AutoCAD program...!
Try these step:
1. File -> Plot
2. Change plot name to dwf ePlot.pc3
3. Look at the bottor right, save as dwf
4. Congratulation, you get dwf file now...! :)

Or you can use the publish function...... though dont know if 2K supports this.....

publish will give you multi page single file .dwf's! whereas plot wont.
