Do you guys know of a suitable substitute (indistinguishable at a meter) for the SHX Font: bold.shx (set to Big Font: bigfont.shx) that is a true type font.
Also, I don’t know where the 2005 toggle for ‘solid fill text plot’ is.
Background: I’m working as a subcontractor for an engineering firm, so I have to do things “their way.” To bad “their way” stopped progressing in 1992.

VCD: Are you wanting to substitute a TTF for the shx or do you HAVE to substitute one for the other? Bad as it is, if I had my 'druthers, I'd stay with the shx font -unless you like bigger-than-they-have-to-be file sizes.
Sounds like the firm you're working for probably doesn't use blocks or editable attributes....perhaps not even layouts? Started to do some work as a consultant to an engineering firm a few years back. Knew I was in trouble when I asked for title blocks and they sent me two...one at 1:96 and one at 1:48!
Search for something in the Truetype family in the "Futura Bold" area. I'm betting it won't be an exact match because having stared at Bold.shx for a while at different times, there are some inconsistencies in the way the characters are designed.
