When working in 3D the computer operates very slowly, particuarly in rendered views, it keeps telling me that it is increasing the virtual memory and that I need to increase the ACADFREERAM but I can't find out how to, anybody know how?

I believe this is just a "system" variable you need to add to boost the memory for A2K5.

See the attached PDF ... for where you should add it .... I think ... :?:  ....

I've always had good luck with letting the O/S handle RAM allocation but there are limitations....

Perhaps examine the composition of your 3D drawings with the idea of reducing file size in mind. Acouple of thins to consider:

- Wblocking out some solids and reinserting them will reduce file size.

- Making simple 3d objects out of 3d faces, regions or polylines with thickness instead of solids will reduce file size.
