Are you sure the file exists where you are pointing to?
Based on your "error" message ... it would seem that file doesn't exist in the new folder you're pointing to ....
Or it would seem that the "file path" is not part of the "search path" ... found under option options.
Hope it's one of these. :)

I didn't get your message.
But anyway, "the file search path" ....
Type "options"
[hit enter key]
click the "FILES" tab
Click "Support File Search Path"
click "ADD"
browse to your new folder
And finally apply ....
Check if its that ...
Otherwise, check if your files exists in that new folder as well.
later guy. :?

yaba sooki fundamooki... i'm still getting the same thing. i'm going to "edit xref paths" and adding the appropriate drawings and selecting items athern queue changes and it doesn't work. if it doesn't recognize the xref at all in tyhe specified drawing, then sometimes it changes the path but doesn't load the xref. you know how it leaves the xref path text on your newly opened drawing? then i have to go about the long way and reload it manually. there must be some way to aoid this. and in the options dialog box, why do i need to add another? what will this do for me?
thank you so much for your help

See my attached PDF file ... which is zipped ....
Let me know how it goes.
Keep the faith. This isn't a hard problem. :?

HEY BUD.... I'VE JUST ABOUT GOT THIS FIGURED OUT. THE EXPESS TOOL "EDITING XREF PATHS" WORK FOR REPATHING MULTIPLE DRAWINGS. THE ONLY PROBLEM I AM HAVING IS WHEN I RENAME THE DRAWINGS AND THE XREFS, IT WILL NOT RECOGNIZE THE REPATHED FILE NAME.......... LET ME BACK UP. I HAVE A PROTOTRYPE DIRECTORY WHICH I USE AND COPY OUT DRAWINGS FOR NEW PROJECT. EVERYTIME I COPY OUT A NEW JOB I HAVE TO RENAME EACH SHEET. I ASLO RENAME THE XREF I USE FOR THIS JOB (SEPERATE FOLDER, BUT SAME DIRECTORY). I THEM OPEN EACH SHEET INDIVIDUALY AND REPATH THE XREFS. I FOUND THAT I CAN DO THIS TO ALL THE SHEETS WITH "XREF PATH EDITOR" AT THE SAME TIME. BUT SINCE I HAVE TO CHANGE THE NAME OF THE SHEETS, FOR SOME REASON AUTOCAD DOESN'T FIND THE CORRECT PATH. ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREAT........
