Hi all,

First time poster here - go easy on me

I have a question regarding the creation of multiple page DWF files.

Basically - how is it done? I have tried to follow the help files that i could find but to no avail.

I am using AutoCAD 2004 in the design & detailing of smallish engineering parts, often resulting in multiple sheet files. I am hoping to switch to a "paperless" drawing office soon and this is proving the biggest problem.

I think it may lay in the fact that when currently plotting master drawings, it is being done from model space, which is what all our templates are created in - therefore rarely using the paperspace funtion to plot drawings, as a result i am 95% paperspace illiterate. MY BAD i know.

I have had a quick search on this frum but couldnt find any info.

can anyone help?

Thanks

Sounds like you want to do a "batch plot" ... if so check this out ....

... one more thing ... you'll need to setup a template for the batch plot.....

You can also do a "batch plot" via a script.
See this link ... too.

My appologies in advance if I'm wrong.

Thanks for the info architech,

This is all cleared up now!

It was all fairly relevent, though i thought i may as well learnt to do things the "proper" way. So i did a course on using paper space and now use the "publish" function to creat my multiple sheet DWF's. its working a treat.

The paperless drawing office is now full steam ahead, all our master drawings are kept in a database on the server using lotus notes meaning i dont get calls from our other offices around the country/world saying "oh can you just do me a favour & fax down a current copy of........" - they just open up the database to access the master file, i have even managed to get my approval signature to appear on the dwf file in red!

I thoroughly encourage anyone who is thinking of going this way to do it! - its easy on the environment too! :D
