Has anyone else noticed that some of the standard AutoCAD hatches look like crap?
I’ve just tried to use the concrete hatches and the GRAVEL hatch and they all are a jumbled mess. Is this a hatch problem or a display problem, and does anybody have a fix?

VCD-
Jumbled hatches occur when coordinates in drawing are very large (such as >1,000,0000). AutoCAD's roundoff errors in computations cause the jumbling. To fix this, set a UCS origin or set SNAPBASE location near to the area you are hatching. You can also fix jumbled hatches after re-setting origin using HATCHEDIT.
Hope this helps!

FYI: My working area is at max x=210,000 y=720,000.
AutoDesk missed the greater than 1,000,000 mark by about 280,000, and for me that's about 53 miles (85k). :o Now that's a roundoff error!

Carl B: Your post was timely for me. I don't hatch 'way out but for years I was under the impression that 3dfaces and regions couldn't be successfully hatched.
By setting the UCS at the lower left-hand corner of a 3dface or region I use the 3point option), they hatch quite nicely. The key to hatching these objects is to simply align the UCS with the plane and voila', you're done!
