I think we could make a contest out of this. Anybody have a better idea?

I've been given the task of training one of the guys I work with on how to use the CAD! He is quite old and the saying "You can't teach an old dog new tricks" springs to mind!

To be honest he's done really but just can’t quite grasp the fact that you need to save your work on a regular basis which has caused quite a large amount of work to be lost in the past!

I like it YosSa. The funniest part is haggis could actually make that menu and tool bar.

VCD: Your concept needs improvement. What you want to do is have a routine that about every five minutes it triggers a "save your work" display much like you depict BUT, the button should fill the ENTIRE SCREEN so one has to click on it to make it go away (and at the same time, save the work). Otherwise, some fool will move it off to the side and continue the mother of all "workarounds".

Cheers!

P.S. Agree with YosSa re: slow (busy?) day.

csiarch, that is genius! :)

Cadman: Not so much genius but more an observer of human nature....

This inspires more thought about AutoCad......You are aware that they have an "expert" setting which bypasses certain "normal" prompts. Perhaps they should also include a "DUHH" (Don't Understand How it Happened) setting which does the opposite like warning you severely before you start into something you really shouldn't be doing. My choice for one of the first commands to be included would be the Explode Command.

Something new for the cadd grist mill.....

Cheers!

I can think of quite a few programs which should prompt before potential job losing commands!

WARNING! You are about to access hardcore material. Please consider that the ITC guy WILL check your history.

That might come in handy for me.

I hereby second VERYCIVILDRAFTER's request for a custom member name. Top class bit of discreet brown nosery that.
Its appraisal time at Cruickshanks this month.. I'd better switch to brown nose mode too.

Ok VCD...what will it be?

ooOOOHHh :o I get to pick... Jeez man, now I'm all nervous and sweaty.

Anyone have any suggestions??? No profanity! :D

If you can work the word "supererogatory" into it you earn 5 points of extra credit.

Ok ok ok
no voting, there is no doubt about it !!

Employe of the month !!

supererogatory

\Su`per*e*rog"a*to*ry\, a. Performed to an extent not enjoined, or not required, by duty or necessity; as, supererogatory services. --Howell.

So its someone who's prepared to go that extra mile then?

I guess I'll pass on the 5 points then.

Its too hard to think of a name for someone else.
Come on VCD what are you a man or a very mad monkey?

CADMAN

You guys are awesome!
YoSsa I'm printing that employee of the month pic and hanging it in my cube.

Hey Wardy supererogexpialladocious means... to much of something in a negative way.
Merriam-Webster example---> attending three long-winded meetings in a row on the same subject was supererogatory
I was thinking of going with 'supererogatory cad team member' :)

Okay CADMAN I think I've got it:

Rank: Once nominated 'Employee of the Month'
or
Rank: One time 'Employee of the Month' nominee

 Wichever you think is funnier... or fits in the square:lol:

CADMAN
