I have one model drawing and numerous drawing sheets on individual layouts!

What I want to do is to set the relevant layers to turn on/off when i select the relevant drawing layout sheet! ie. if is select a the ductwork layout, all the ductwork layers appear and all layers other are turned off! If I select a pipework layout all layers except pipework layers are turn off!

I know you can do this by using the layer state manager in the layer properties box! but I was wondering if you can set individual layout sheets to load in and freeze layers as they are selected!

Thanks in advance,

Haggis

In short, I want different layers to be loaded in when I select the different layout tabs at the bottom of the CAD!

Do you mean you want to import layouts into drawings that are automatically set up with specific layer configurations, or do you want to turn off layers in a current view port. If it's the latter, use "layer freeze" in your current view port, and freeze the layers you don't want to see. Or take a look at the layer dialogue box - column "Current VP Freeze."

If I go into a viewport and freeze a layer ie. ceiling layer! It freeze's that layer on every layout. I want it to only freeze layers on the current layout and not on all of the different layouts

Does this make sense!

Thanks

Go to a layout and set a view port current (get "in" a viewport), then open the layer dialogue box.

On the far right is a column called "Current VP Freeze", use that for a view port specific layer freeze. What ever you freeze in that column will only be frozen in the current viewport.
