View Full Version : Custom menu inability to reload

I hope someone has experienced this problem...
I help manage a network that has two separate versions of ACAD running, 2005 and 2002. They both have a set of custom menu and pull-down files associated with each version. ACAD2002 has an issue when starting up:
The custom menu file always gets lost upon restart of acad. I have to go to each one of the machines in my office and manually path the custom menu file and menu bars every time someone shuts their acad session down.
I am recompiling the custom menus every time I reload them on every machine. As you can probably imagine, this is a bit of a pain, I was wondering if anyone knows how to fix the problem? Someone, anyone? Help me please?!
Thanks for your time in advance.

Sounds like loading that menu over and over is a royal pain in the tail.

Have you tried adding your "custom menu's" folder location to the Support File Search Path in Options?

Yes, the support file search paths do include the custom menu folders.

Open up the .mns file for your menu. Do all of the folder references in that file look correct.

Sorry you should probably be looking in the .MNU file.

Notepad can view either file.

Hi "msaady" long time no hear ....

Anyway ... we've the same setup over here in my office.
And we've had similar problems.

Although not all problems have gone away some have gone away with renaming support files differently.

For example:

"custom-02.mnu"
"custom-04.mnu"

"printer-02.pc3"
"printer-04.pc3"

In association with the custom menu we associated them to profiles within the shortcuts.

Hope that helps.
:)
