Some little puzzlement maybe someone can clear up for me....

I'm running Win98SE and use Netscape 6.2 for my browser.

If I e-mail a PLT (430kb size) file to the commercial print shop WITHOUT enclosing it in a .zip file, the images get scrambled. Parts of the images plot shifted, sometimes a little; sometimes up to 1/2 a sheet height.

I looked at the e-mail message they received and instead of showing an attachment, there's a whole bunch of machine-code-like text instead.

Any ideas? Upgrading the OS or browser is not an option; sure as H--- if I do that, nothing will work.

csiarch,

This is usually due the e-mail encrypting your e-mail message for security purposes. I doubt your browser or OS have anything to do with the problem. You have discovered the reason almost everyone recommends zipping any file you send via e-mail.

Todd: I sorta' came to the same conclusion. It must be my ISP because I know others send to the same address without zipping them with no problems. I was was looking to see if others have had similar occurences.

Thanks for the reply.
