Could there, should there, is there a way to scale objects only on one axis? or two?

I'm sure there's a different way to do this, but this is how I do it:
Make a block of the entities. Then insert the block using a different (insertion) scale factor for each axis. What nice about doing it this way is if you wish to change the scale difference you just have to modify the block properties.

Of Curse! Thank you. This only comes to prove that the simplest solution is probably the better solution. Arenīt you tired, being a designer, of saying, "Naturally! Why didnīt I think of that!"

You can also selectively scale blocks after insertion by "gripping" the block and invoking the properties box. Clicking on properties or typing MO (R14 and 2002) gets generally the same response.
The only reason I mention this is that it's sometimes more convenient to size something AFTER insertion...

Thanks, you guys really know your CAD. By the way, do you know why, sometimes after dealing with some 3D properties, when I reack the layer menu on its tool bar, the mouse switches to the little hourglass instead of the arrow. It affects nothing of what oneīs doing (not that Iīve found), but its weird.

When the cursor symbol changes to an hourglass, it means that the system is doing something and the possibilities about WHAT it's doing are endless.
In the case of accessing layers as you mentioned, it could mean that it's taking a few seconds to load the proper images ....
Usually doesn't mean too much unless it sits there for a while....
