Mass Layer Name Editor

Please remember I’m using R14 and it has old school character length limitations.

A drawing was sent to me that had an xref bound and inserted into the drawing. Now the drawing layer names are so long that I can’t xref it into another drawing.

My question: Is there a lisp or script that can remove a prefix (user defined) from several :cry: hunderd :cry: layer names?

I’m going to go ahead and edit the layer names myself, so take your time. I'd just like something for the future.

I believe this can be with a script or a button macro.
I'll have to think about how ....

Yes the Rename command should do it by itself.
