I received a file containing the Souvenir LT BT True Type Font. I also was sent that font to load into Autocad. I am not sure how to do this. The file is distorted.....some of the verbiage I am able to read, some is just gibberish.....what do I do?

Try changing the "text style" to a different true type font, and that might make it readable, at least.

:? I'm hesitant to explain to you how to copy a new font into windows and acad, because I haven't done that in long time. I'd rather wait and see if someone else shows up who knows exactly how to do it.

There were some recent posts in the AutoCad forum regarding this; might want to go to Autodesk.com site and do a search? One of the posts was a rather detailed explanation of how to install more TTF fonts in the system. I do recall that they should be in the Windows fonts folder, not the AutoCad fonts folder, though.

You might want to consider using SHX fonts unless you really enjoy slower regens and jerky panning......

Simply copy the TTF font into the FONTS directory located under the main windiws folder.

When your Autocad restarts it should find and use the new font.

According to the posts in the AutoCad forums, in some OSs TTF fonts must be installed to work properly; in others, copying them in will suffice. Don't recall which is which but if one doesn't work, try the other (obviously!).....

:? Dang, I guess I did know how to do it, but it seamed too simple of an answer.

 Hey csiarch I like slow regen times, I get paid by the hour!
