does anyone know of any estimating techniques that are used with autocad. or does autocad have it's own proceedure??? other that drawing out the plans and elevations and listing the the objects for square footage, cubic yards, lf, ect.....

the outfit i am going to work for is looking for a new estinmating software ---- masonry construction. in order to set up some type of standard -- any help is good help

Look into "Revit" .... I believe that may have what you want.
Also try AutoDesk's Building System .....

There's a magazine called "Masonry Construction" (don't know what their web site might be) but there are always a few advertisements for estimating softwware in it. Might be worth checking out....
