acad 2002 Problem: Match Properties matches the Dim scale linear value of the source dimension to the target dimension. If the two dimensions are in different views that have different Scale factors, then the target dimension value becomes incorrect. Anyone else experience this?

Post the drawing ..
Thats easier to check it then.

... I thought about this problem .. and it dawn'd on me ... you're using only one "dimstyle" ....
Try setting up more than one style.
That should solve your problem.
This way each "dimstyle" has their own scale factor setting.

no, that is not it. i use seven different dim styles. if i decide that the dimension style in viewport 1 (scale factor of .5) should match the dimension style in viewport 2 (scale factor 1) and use the Match Properties command, the value for dimension 1 changes. the dim scale linear value found in properties-primary changes to the inverse of the scale factor of the viewport for which the source dimension lives.

Try doing the match after you set your DIMASSOC to 1 ..... :P
It might be set to 2 ....

architech is usually right, and I might be a little off topic. BUT I've found that with some dimensions I have to use matchprop two times on the same dim before it "works". Don't ask me why. :?

PAHUNTR,
Did you see reply to your post at "AutoCAD Live" from David? I'll copy it below:
after selecting the host dimension while using the matchprop command try typing an 's' for settings. deselect the 'dim' check box and the dimlfac (and dimscale) will no longer update with the matchprop command.

I'm finding that the setting options works exactly as stated. The trouble here is that the user is not using Match properties to match Basic Properties but is using it to update a dimension to include the entries in the Properties/Primary/Prefix and Suffix fields from another dimesnion, so as to save time not having to re-enter the (%%c and the ). So the problem with the match properties command still exists. If only we could filter out the matching of the dim scale linear variable?

Sometimes we spend more time than we save, don't we?
Perhaps if the user developed ONE dimension for each scale factor, then matchprop'd to the appropriate one??????
