ON THE WAY THE BELLBOY COULDN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO

THIS MEANT THAT THE 3 MEN EACH PAID $9 FOR THE ROOM,
WHICH IS A TOTAL OF $27, ADD THE $2 THAT THE BELLBOY
KEPT $29.

Thinking about the dollar question, The men actually paid $8.33 recurring for the room. But because of the way the busboy split the cash the figure became rounded to $9. This $9 was then slyly added to the equation to trick us poor problem solvers into overlooking it.
But 33.3c x 3 is equal to $1. Solved I think!

answer:
Look at this as if the 3 were charged correctly. The room costs $25 or $8.33 per person. They paid $30 or $10 each and then got $1 dollar back (for a net of $9 each). The difference between what the room costs($25) and what each paid (3 x $9 = $27) is $2. The bellboy kept this. There is no extra dollar.
