I have a downhole survey of a shaft(essentially a 3d polyline) which I need turn into a "tube".
Problem is if a create a series of cylinders I get overlap and intersection due to the devaition of the shaft. Is there a way to merge a series a cylinders to create a smoothe pipe or create it originally from the polylines??

jpg attached.Still may not be clear but if you can imagine like a twisted piece of wire as a centreline of a 3 m pipe.the survey(so the length of each polyline)lines are each 5 m in length.

Its simple but sounds confusing as I am sure the solution is simple but is confusing me??

hi..gadanka

draw the section and use Command: revolve
Specify endpoint of axis: the center of ur pipe dia
Specify angle of revolution <360>:

try this..

gadanka,

Have you tried drawing - or joining your polyline, and then drawing the diameter of your hole/pipe at one end of the newly joined polyline, and then extruded it along the polyline?

That should eliminate your offsets.
