I have AutoCAD 2005 &04
Here I am attaching an image of my 2005’ s layer properties manager
To get this Dialog box, I have to wait minimum 30seconts (in 2005)
The same Drawing I opened in 2004 and to get layer properties manager
Dialog box only 2 seconds (in 2004).
Look at the image, I circled with red. scroll bar..now u can guess how long that list. Near to that u can see 100’s of filters.
I doubt, Because of that AutoCAD 2005 is slow. When I delete that layer properties manager appears 20X faster..
How to remove those filter’s by command line. Is there any way?

It works, it just doesn't give any feedback. It's just a quick and dirty routine that purges out all layer filters which can cause drawing bloat.

I found new 1
-----------------------------
Command: ap
APPLOAD LayerFiltersDelete.lsp successfully loaded.

Command: lfd

Wildcard mask for filters to keep, or <Enter> to delete all:

5283 filters deleted.

--this lisp works

LFD works great. Does anyone know of a way to diable the layer filters that populate a drawing when opened? I read that they were AIA layer standards that automatically load when accessing a drawing that hasn't had them previously deleted. They also come in with any blocks, etc that contain layer filters when inserted.

Within 2005, you can use the APPLOAD dialogue window to add the LFD.lsp to the startup of AutoCAD. That way it saves you a step when starting up a new drawing, and all you need to do is type in LFD to make it work for each. I don't know of a way to make it work automatically, and I am not really tempted to, as I use some layer filters myself and don't want them purged.

Thanks. I had copied LFD into my support folder. I was hoping to be able to disable the AIA layer filters that come in automatically everytime I open a drawing. I had read on another NG that these layer filters are loaded averytime I open a drawing. LFD works well, and once the filters are deleted the first tme they don't come back but it is drawing specific. I have to run it in every drawing I access. I guess at some point I will get rid of them...
