While trying to draw a zipper, I came up to the point of drawing it open. Is there a way to array objects (the zipper teeth, basic boxes for instance) along a path (a spline in this case)?

hi..Azadhel try this...
Command: _measure
with block..
make a block..zipper_teeth..
use that end to end distance of zipper teeth.
---------------------------------------------------------
Command: _measure
Select object to measure:"select the spline"
Specify length of segment or : [b]b
Enter name of block to insert: zipper_teeth

Align block with object? [Yes/No] <Y>:y

Specify length of segment: " end to end of zipper_teeth block"

Thanks! That is basically what was done. But it was not as easy as it seems. In order to have the zipper with a realistic turn, it had to rotate as it crept along the spline. What I finally did was to copy that spline and adjust one end of that copyed spline. For instance, if both splines are parallel in the XY plane on one end, on the other they would be parallel on the XZ plane. Then I divided both splines normally and THEN inserted each block and aligned it according to the division points on each spline. That gave each Tooth the angle needed. The down side is that it had to be done one by one. The up side is that itīs done! Do you know where I can upload all this objects Iīve drawn? I know I would have been glad to find them for download instead of drawing them from scratch. And, since they are done, I donīt see why some other designer has to go through that torture.

Upload here. Make sure it is a ZIP.
