I've just finished plotting 300+ drawings and I'm agitated.
Not because of the printing though.. oh no. I accept the mundane tasks because I know I've got to get the job done.
BUT! I have a major problem.. ok here goes.
I've got GTX ImageCAD 2000plus. Now this plots to a kip2900 plotter via a piece of software called Rastrans. It basically converts .tif files to .cg4
Recently however, when i come to plot a drawing, I've been going to the plot server, selecting my plot (with a program called copybase) and then hitting ok.
Then the trouble starts.. I get an error message which says blah de blah de blah... "Could not decode row (random alphanumeric tag)"
The plot is useless and I cant get my print.
I've tried saving the file in different formats and no joy.. However I havent tried every format. If anyone has a hard fast solution, clue me up.

I'll give this a shot .... :?:
OK ...
You have "GTX" on top of "A2k".
Rastrans is apart of "GTX".
From "A2k/ GTX", you plot (via rastrans) to some "raster/ image" file format.
Now, the "raster/ image" files sit in "Some Folder".
You exit "A2k/ GTX" and go into "COPYbase".
"COPYbase" grabs your "raster/ image" files and sends them to the "KIP2900" queue for plotting.
************************************************** *******
So far so go, right?
Correct me if I'm wrong
************************************************** *******
"COPYbase" is a some basic "RIP plotter program" ... I'm guessing :?:
************************************************** *******
SO it's either "GTX/ rastrans" or "COPYbase".
************************************************** *******
Try this ....
Forget "GTX/ rastrans" .... for a second.
In AutoCAD 2000i, open a DWG file and plot to a JPG using the AUTOCAD PC3 file.
Use the "PublishToWeb JPG.PC3".
************************************************** *******
Now use your "COPYbase" to plot this "JPG".
************************************************** *******
If nothing comes out .... it's "COPYBase".
If something does come out ... it's GTX/rastrans"
************************************************** *******
Either case, my advice would be to re-install the software.
And if the problem continues, then it's a network and/or OS issues.
HTH.

That was an exhaustive answer and for that I thank you, but (and there's always a but!) Some files plot perfectly, while others choose to dipslay the error I was talking about....
Here it is in full.
PE PicLoad: Error loading the image: C:\RATIO\COPYBASE\CfgSpool\42_107263_f.cg4
Could not decode row.
: (1) 42_107263_f.cg4
The 42_107...etc is the drawing number (as you may have guessed).
In the meantime, I'll be applying the rest of your advice. (Well, the system administrator will be.) So if it fixes the problem I'll post here and let you know.
