Hi all
I'm just starting out with autocad 2002 and ready to begin the journey in learning autocad.
Are there any distance learning courses in the uk, I live in Glasgow, Scotland?
Can anyone give me any advice on starting out please?
Many Thanks!

Have you checked out the Links to Tutorials here?

HTH.
AutoCAD LT and (regular) AutoCAD are the same things with the exception that in LT you can't ....
Do 3D.
Do LISPs
and some commands aren't available in LT.
So the tutorials you will see are for AutoCAD BUT they can be applied to AutoCAD LT for the most part. :)
Later guy.

You didn't say whether you are a "beginner" beginner or have a little experience.....
Now, all you AutoCad digitheads...don't laugh or snort. This is one way to learn basic commands and get feedback on whther you're doing it right or not.
If you live in a house, draw your house.
If you live in an apartment (or flat) draw where you live.
Make pencil and paper sketches, take measurements, and draw what is already built. As you go through this process, you will become acquainted with the most common commands used to create drawings. If you end up with a drawing that accurately depicts the house or flat you live in, congratulations!
Draw FULL SIZE in model space. Start the drawing (important) at a finite distance above and to the right of the zero, zero coordinate, preferably X+ 100 units; Y + 100 units. Some might say it doesn't matter where you start but it does.
Never draw repetitive objects such as doors, windows and "basic" building materials more than once. If you find yourself doing this, make the object(s) into a block. You'll be building a library of reusable objects.
NEVER explode a block to edit it; this defeats the purpose of using blocks.
There's a lot more but this should get you started....
Good Luck!
