Hi There,

Is it in any way possible to convert Splines into Arcs? not lines but ARCS

The reason for this is NOT to confuse my cam software with splines in exported dxf files

Thanks

Hi,

You can use "flatten" from the Expresstools V1-9

... I see You are a cross-poster

Lothar,
... nice solution .... ::thumbs :

Stoop,

I would only add .....
Explode the spline after the flatten routine to get lines & arcs.

If you don't explode, the spline becomes a "PLINE". :P

 Not sure if the "PLINE" is what you want.

Anyway, thank Lothar for that solution.! ::Beer::

Two ways I know of:

Save as a dxf version 12 drawing. ("dxfout"). I don't recall if this converts a spline to a polyline or a series of arcs.

Another way, but won't work with R14 - get the free routine spl2pl.vlx, to convert spline to a polyline, at http://www.dotsoft.com/freestuff.htm

I bow before thee. I had no Idea of all of this. Thank you for opening a wider horizon before our eyes on all CAD matters. The link is great and the LSP even better. By the way, do you know where one can upload/download one´s DWGs? I know I would have appreciated to find what I drew already drawn somewhere for free.

As far as uploading DWGs, you can do it here!
[Under the AutoCAD Files Library, just start a NEW post.]

As for as downloading DWGs, what exactly do you want?
There are many sites ... especially from BIG MANUFACTURERS ... :P
