Setting default directories

I have asked this question once already and have tried the suggestion that was given me but it is not working, so here is my question again.

How can I dictate what default directory is selected for things like: opening a new drawing, ddinsertion, etc. Can I have a different default directory for different activities?

in you're profile (type: PR in youre commandline) you can give autocad some default directories. The directories you give him here are the directories autocad will look into automaticly. Any file here, he knows it ...
