When I choose a profile from the options menu, and set it current, shoudn't it load after I close autocad and re open it? it is not doing so. any advice?

It could be that you have more than one profile on your machine and Autocad is loading the wrong one at startup. Use your Windows Search function and use *.arg as the search criteria and see if more than one profile is found.

That is normal.

Did you open ACAD with the icon on the desktop? If yes -> change the aim of the icon -> .../p "yourprofilename" ...

I hope in 2009 ist it working like this.
