I was looking for traffic lane 'turn and straight arrows', which are wider than normal arrows. I've seen them, but don't have autocad's land development package. Thanks in advance

Have you tried your local transportation agency for standards?
Sometimes they even make their details downloadable.

Try these...but bear in mind they are Australian Standards...

thanks both..
I couldn't open arrows.dwg (I'm using 2000 version). I'll try True-convert on my XP computer.
I'll also try Dept. of Transportation site.

Massachusetts DOT has symbols to download...
Not sure if they have what you need...

Thanks Alan...R-14 worked. Although it has proxy objects..I was still able to copy and paste into a new dwg. These will work for now....I just couldn't get leader arrows to work.
Thanks too Architech...I also found that site last night. Seems that the arrows are for road signs only....didn't see pavement markings.
I was using arrows for traffic lanes involving a proposed mall/highway entrance...Thanks again.
Hi KT277,
You probably have what you need by now, and this site has the information in pdf format but for future reference it may give you more. At least it has dimensions or you could convert it to dwg.
It's the FHWA Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.

What VTHI said
If you're going to work on highways in the US you need to follow the MUTCD. The MUTCD webpage has links to all the State standards that are regulations in addition to the MUTCD.

Thanks VTHI & VCD,
Found the pavement markings in .pdf format in the FHWA manual, which I could convert to dwg. I found some pavement arrows already in .dwg from Washington State DOT site.
Photo from FHWA manual...showing arrows.
The arrows from Wash. State are sufficient for now...for a sketch plan.
I used the straight arrow from Alan...except cut the 'tail' in half.
Thanks all again.
Hi KT277,
Glad to be of help.
