(someone sent me note they were writing a set - so it seemed like a good post)
So what are some things you all feel a Good set of CAD standards should have?
Jumping from job to job....
I feel might 1st job did it right...
These last two jobs which include my current one... really dont or didnt get right...
So the obivious one.. which all 3 jobs have in their CAD standard...
LAYER NAMES - AIA format
The other is annotation is which space...
Dim style settings
Text style settings
file naming conventions
Descriptions of Master DWGs versus the description of SHEET DWGs
Library locations
Project CAD Coordinators - gatekeepers for CAD files on server - for each project. Procedurers for choosing one for each project.
Department CAD mentors - if any. Procedurers for maintain standards.
Close out procedurers
proposals procedurers- file in permanent folders on the server versus temp folders on junk drives
CAD sketch procedurers for RFIs - proposals
Specs
Photos
Issued drawing procedures
Recieved drawing procedures
Scanning drawings - hand drawings where dimensions are documented/ survey drawings
Scanning drawings - hand existing drawings
storing Downloaded blocks from manfacuturers
Storing Old project used for reference
Handling emails...
Transmittals...
FTP site procedurers
Quality Control Procedures VS Quality assurance procedurers
picking up redline procedurers... red marks versus blue or black marks on drawing... (revision required when in red versus drafting notes when comments made in blue or black ink)
Back checking requirements...
blue highlighter for initial pick ups from CAD drafter
versus
green highlighting from Job Captian cheking CAD drafter...
