Check this site, http://lunareclipsesoftware.com/ These guys have a Keyboard Hook program that integrates directly into AutoCAD 2009. It uses a pellete. They also had added much more functionality then any other keyboard hook program. I use it and its a great program. I will never go back to AutoHook.

You can assign osnaps to function keys using the CUI.....nothing else is required. I'll posts some images up for you to show you how when I get to work.

Go into your CUI dialogue....
Create a new command..."osnap to endpoint" for e.g.
Then fill out the properties and whatever else as shown in the image below. Get back to me if you are having any problems.

Alan, Thank you for that information. I am still wondering how, and maybe you can explain how you can assign alt key combinations as hot keys from the CUI. I also have trouble overriding AutoCAD Classic System keys successfully such as F8. Is there an easy way to bring up a visual description on my drawing editor of the new command macro that I have made for easy reference as I am memorizing my newly made commands while I am drawing ? In the past I have had to make a definition on using Note pad. But that does not seem to be as useful as a palette that I can open up and look rite at while I am drafting using the LEhotkey manager.

I haven't done this for so long...I've actually forgotten the sequence involved in assigning function keys to osnaps. But I'll try and sort it out when I get to work tomorrow...that's where all my notes are.
The F8 function key can't be ressigned, it's the only one that can't....it will always be ortho on/off.
As for newly created commands...I just list them in a word document and stick it up beside me so I can see immediately what they are.
I'm not sure about the rest of what you are after. If you go to www.cadtutor.net (http://www.cadtutor.net) and take a look at the FAQ there, I'm sure you'll get some more info on what you are chasing. I know a lot of members there did a lot of work on this stuff for the FAQ. Pay particular attention to a FAQ about reassigning the F1 key to Cancel.
