I've gotten all kings of grief over how backwards we do our schedules.

So give up the info buddies.

How are you doing them?

what kind of schedules?

Door schedules for me... is a long and tedious process...
no ways around it...

I've tried automating it once...
but that was more of a headache...

in the end it failed...
and the logic was....

NOT everything can be automated....

Schedules have been done by hand before CAD...
and they'll continue to be done so...

Equipment Schedules...
usually can be automated via a database connection to AutoCAD

That's the way ... most people favor.... (That was Softdesk's approach and NOW REVITs)

Other have tried to use LISP that take information from Attribute blocks which the CAD users would fill out when inserting...
(Another Softdesk innovation)

as for electrical and mechanical...
In my humble opinion.. i wouldnt bother...
the design changes are too much that the ability to move on a dime with a database attached- just doesnt work...

at the end of the last folicle you pull out of your head....
it was just best to maually make the change

Wow.. This is a bittersweet reality. I have been trying to figure out the advantage to OLE objects in my drawings. I couldn't figure out how to get them big enough to show my whole schedule with the software I have, and in the end went back to Spanner.
I've always wanted single source data from the engineers, but I will release this dream, just like I did with virtual enviroment designing. The glasses looked dorky anyway..
