So I just got AutoCAD 2008 LT, and I cannot figure out how to get a .tiff into my drawing. I've gone through the help menu, and they talk about .tiff's, but they never say how to acutally import one.

Any help would be great!

Far as I know, LT doesn't have image attaching capability. You could give this a try though: http://www.cadforum.cz/cadforum_en/qaID.asp?tip=5174

Yeah, that's kind of what I was afraid of. I'll give that a try though, sounds easy enough. Thanks for the info...

Noticed this thread, Cad64 is right LT is not supposed to be able to load image files into the drawing... but...

LT 2000 and LT 2002 have a 'back door' that is undocumented and little known, it should work in other LT versions as well.

In autocad type 'IMAGE'
The image manager will appear with the buttons greyed out.
Now type 'ALT+A' (Thats the alt and A key at the same time).
Up pops a box labled 'Select Image File'
Browse to the image file you want and select it as normal.
You can now load the image into the drawing.

Hope it works for you.

Well, thanks for the thoughts, but I just tryed it, and nothing happens when you type Alt+A.

I think I'm just screwed, have to do it in a round about way.

Thanks anyway...

Did you try the suggestion in that link I posted? Does that work?

Just tried it in LT 2006, won't work there either. Autodesk must have noticed and removed it. Still works with LT 2000 and LT 2002.
Ive seen another way round it somewhere but have forgotten it because it was long winded and Alt+A was easier, If I can find it again I will post it.
