I wanted to explode a block but was unable to do so.
The message came that the block cannot be exolded.
I listed the block which say "Allow exploding :no
What is the command / way to explode this block?

If you follow the procedure described above, you should be able to explode the blocks. Try it again and make sure you say "yes" to save before exiting the block editor. Have you tried inserting a new instance of the block after changing the setting? Does it allow you to explode it?

The *e155, *e156, etc. is just the name that Autocad gives to entities as they come into the drawing. It has no bearing on what you are trying to do. It's how Autocad keeps track of things.

when i went into the properties , the Allow exploding option was already showing "yes".when i treid to insert the block with the name *e166 , the dcl dialogue shows " invalid characters in block name" . kindly suggest any other way to explode the block

So the *e166 is the block name? Sorry, I was thinking it was the Handle. So when you copy the block, does the name automatically increment? Blocks that are named in that way, ie: *e166, usually come from some 3rd party program because Autocad does not allow you to include characters like "*" in the block name. Where did this block come from? I mean who created it? Can you contact them and ask them how they created it and how you can explode it?

Maybe you could upload the block here so we can take a look at it?

Or, try the RENAME command to change the name of the block. Then you should be able to Explode it. This is just a guess since I don't have a block like that to try it out.
