If anyone can answer this....You are true GENIUS! I recently changed to XP and this is my problem.

If I Open a drawing in a certain folder or directory, then go to open up another drawing it used to take me back to the last drawing I opened, then I could proceed from there. With XP it kicks me all the way back to the begining of the folder or directory.

Ex. I have a Folder with 25,000 drawings in it. I scroll down with the bar or mouse wheel to Drawing 14,176 and open it. Then I also need the latest revision of drawing 14,178. So I go to open file, it used to take me to 14,176, so I would only have 2 drawings or a couple of revisions to scroll thru, now it kicks me all the way back to 1, and I have to scroll thru 14,000 + drawings to get to the print that I need. I know you can type it into the bottom bar, but If I don't know the latest revision that won't work.

I hope someone can help me.

8) Recently found out about this....

A new variable added with 2000i and up (2000 didn't have it) -
REMEMBERFOLDERS. Type that in and set it to 0 (zero).

Hope it helps.

YosSa's response is a good one: clean, simple and to the point -and just downright good practice.

I tried rememberfolders command, didn't have an effect.

As far as putting on 10 files in a folder, that's absolutley impossible!!

I work with 20 other engineers, and we all run our own projects w/ different assemblies. Our folders are broken down into years. When we create a new drawing it is saved in the 04 directory as either a part or an assy number. These folders all date back to 89. This is the reason there are so many drawings in a folder. Not (25,000) that was an exageration.

REMEMBERFOLDERS acts only for the folders but not for the position.

At open dialog you can enter "141*", then you see only some of the files in this folder and you must not scroll as far.

Maybe your office should plan to save the drawings not in one folder for each year but in one folder per month?
