Has anyone had any extensive experience with the external x-reference manager provided with 06 and 07 (I think it was provided with 05 also). This is the reference manager that is launched through the windows start/programs menu. I am wondering if I can do a global change, i.e. - Change reference paths in all subdirectories for all jobs from a drive letter Z: to say an X: ? Is this possible or do I have to re-path every reference individually?

Thx for your response. I have been toying around with the Ref Manager already, but what I am curious about is how to do a global change on a drive letter for all job files already exisitng with all references needing to be repathed. Here is what I am trying to do: I have a server with a drive letter 'Z' which has upwards of about 200 jobs on it within each one of those jobs, several sheets with xreferences exist not to mention xreferences within xreferences. I need to know how to make a global change through the Ref Manager that will allow me to take all reference paths in all dwg files in all job folders and change the drive path from 'Z' to something else (say 'X'). Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your time.

Do you really need to repath the xrefs for all of those drawings right now? I would just repath the drawings as needed or just repath the drawings that are currently being worked on. I don't know of any way to automatically do what you are asking. If every drawing was using the same xrefs and all of the xrefs were located in the same folder, having the exact same path, you might be able to automate the process with a script. But I assume every drawing has its own set of xrefs located within each drawings job folder, so therefore the paths will be different for every drawing.

Do you have any interns or part time employees that you could just put in front of a computer and have them update drawings for a couple of days? :p
