Hi,

I'm rendering my architectural thesis and it continually freezes my computer. When the render window open I'm using AutoCAD 2004, rendering to render window, after varying percentages of lines rendered, the render window turns white and autocad is "Not Responding". Can someone help me please? it is due friday

I've got a Toshiba Satellite 5200 laptop P4 2.2 GHz with 528 RAM, NVIDEA GeForce FX Go5600
Thanks

Hmmm....
Aside from getting a newer LAPTOP ...

Another ... somewhat tricky ... solution would be to ...

I'm assuming you have cettain objects on different layers.
Shut off your objects in the foreground or objects closest to you when looking at the rendering.

Now just render the backgorund and objects way in the back.
Save this image.

Now shut off the background and objects in the back.
And TURN ON the foreground and related objects.
Render this and save this as a separate object.

Now splice the images in PHOTOSHOP OR some other imaging software that allows you copy/ cut and paste images on top of images. :?

This might not not yield the best results if shadows are involved in your render model .... but it's the best thing I have to offer with your situation.

Hope that helps.

If your computer still freezes, you may need to further split the render model. Just remember to do it logical layers so it easy for you just paste one image after another, on top of each other. This is so the final image looks like you intended it to.

Maybe someone else might have a better solution.
