plane script

How do I write a script that will select all the blocks on the same plane?

By "on the same plane", do you mean blocks with the same z value for their insert point? Or, do you define a plane with 3 points? By "script", does it have to be a "scr" file, or will anything automated (lisp, vba) be OK?
