I have a diameter and I would like to make arcs using this diameter, but how do I make it to a certain length?

You could make an arc of arbitrary length, then change its length to exact value using LENGTHEN. Probably an easier method (lisp?) if you do a lot of these.

According to an engineering reference book I have, length of a chord = 2 times the square root of (radius squared minus diameter squared).

I was quoting from a book of formulas I have about the properties of a circle. A chord is a straight line segment that bisects a circle. The segment "cut" by the chord is an arc. The formula quoted in my previous post is, I believe, in response to your original post.

If you don't have a working understanding of basic geometry, some trigonometry and geometric constructs, you will continue to struggle with using cadd. The program will NOT think for you. Sorry if you feel this is a harsh statement but it is a reality....
