Dimensions

Hello Everyone,
I have a problem with my dimesions staying attached and stretching from the original xref when i make a copy of the whole drawing. I need my dims to stay associated, is there a setting that i'm missing here?

I'm sorry VERYCIVIL, i guess my post was kind of misleading, my dims are already associated when i make a copy. it's when i paste it the dims stay attached and stretched from the original xref.

If you type dimdisassociate and select the dimensions you mentioned it will disassociate the dimensions from the object they were dimensioned to and they won't stretch when you copy, edit or move the object. This command does not remove the dimension's associativity, just it's associativity with the object.
