I re-installed Autocad Rel 14.........and when I select open file it defaults to my C: drive.
How can I set it for defaulting to my network (i.e. G:/engineering/autocad)?

I thought R14 uses the same directory as the last file opened. What OS are you using?

I am using XP media edition.

I believe that's in your DESKTOP icon for AUTOCAD....
Right click on the ICON and go to properties....
And edit the "START IN" line...
And you must have the REMEMBERFOLDERS variable set to ZERO...
Otherwise it will remember the last folder opened and start from there....
