Deleting a layer

I need help to delete a layer from a drawing that I need to send out. When I try and delete it I get the message - 'Selected layer not deleted ! The following layers cannot be deleled - layers 0 and def points, the current layer, xref/dependant layers, layers containing objects'. Anyone any ideas ? I am a relative beginner with not much 'proper' CAD experience !

There must be something on that layer; could even be part of a block or a dimension that won't show. You might try the Express Tools "LAYDEL" command.
