Does anyone know how to edit dimension units in a drawing? Basically my problem is that I have recieved a drawing which has been drawn in millimeters and so is dimensioned in millimeters. Is there a way/command to show these dimensions in meters instead of millimeters?

Thanks

Type DDIM
enter key
select the dimstyle to modify
then go to Primary units tab
and change it there....
may have to also mess with the scale factor in that same tab...

Changed the scale factor. Worked a treat. Many thanks for your help.

One other problem is I have recieved a drawing showing different hole positions on a map. These positions are shown by named blocks. These blocks are co-ordinated and therefore when I do a properties on each of them it shows that they are in the correct co-ordinate position (x and y) as required. The problem occurs when I go to extract these co-ordinate positions using the attribute extraction tool. The extracted x and y co-ordinates extracted are very different to the position in the drawing.

Do you know why this would be?

Thanks again.

Are you sure about this?

check the base point in the file?
And check the UCS plane the file is in.

There has to be a link to one of these items.

The base point for the co-ordinates is 0,0,0. The hole positions are co-ordinated to OS Irish Grid Datum. These are 6 figure grid co-ordinates.

How do I check the UCS plane? What should it be set at?

Sorry for the hassle, thanks again for your help

Hi
sorry for the delay...

Actually if the base is 0,0,0 then its fine....

if U type
UCS
it should be set to <<WORLD>>

To view other UCS planes... type UCSMAN
and view their properties...
