Hello there,

OK.

I have recently upgraded from AutoCAD2006 to AutoCAD2007 (I am still using 2006 until I get a better handle on 2007). I have also more recently removed some older releases of AutoCAD as well (R14 & 2000).

But now when I go to plot it takes considerably longer for the plotter to start plotting. This occurs on the HP430 Design Jet and the office HP Color Laser Jet 2600n. The Printing Preferences is set to In Computer.

Even just getting a plot preview on the screen seems to take forever. Even with smaller drawings.

I was wondering whether when I removed the older versions of CAD I unwittingly removed something I needed.........somehow that just doesn't seem plausable...

Cheers.

Try setting your plotting preferences to the ploter or network to spool instead of your computer. See id that speeds up your machine.

Let me know.

No, sorry, that didn't work. Both settings took just as long to process and plot the drawing.
I have it set on In Comp because in the past I had trouble with some PDF files and larger .dwg files. The plotter wouldn't print the whole drawing, it would leave out random blocks, slabs of text, etc.

Everything was just fine before I removed the old CAD programes:confused:

Thanks.

here's one...
Try moving all the PC3 (s) out of the plotter directory you point to in AutoCAD...
then see if your machine moves faster...

Is so then you'll have to see which PC3 is the problem...
I'd move each one back into the folder... until the machine moves slow again.....

Chances are its the PC3 you need....
that's needs to be done over....
