Here's another tip. :)

"I want to explode my text but I don't have the Express Toolbars, is there a way to do this?".
:?:

The DXB file should cause your text to break down into LINEs. Need to type in DXBIN to bring in your DXB file.

After that, you'll have to trace the font (with ACRs & LINEs) for your "CLOSED POLYGON".
Although, someone here might have a LISP routine that will enable you select the loose lines and create a closed polygon. The BPOLY would be a choice IF the font didn't break into SO many jagged edges. So this is a negative against the DXB format.

NOTE:
The "True Type Font" messy fill issue can be limited by font size.
The larger the font size the more lines are added IN for the fill ....

Hence, if one sets the height to 1/8" or 1/4" the amount of text fill TO BE DELETED can be limited.

The DXBOUT file format needs to be a PRINTER.
Go to "ADD-A-PLOTTER WIZARD"

On my PC, it's ...

Go to C:\Acad2000\Plotters
Double click on "ADD-A-PLOTTER WIZARD"
NEXT
(select) MY COMPUTER
NEXT
(left side : select) AutoCAD DXB File
NEXT
NEXT
NEXT
(Give it a name "PLOT TO DXB FILE")
NEXT
FINISH

Hope this tip too helps someone out there ....
By the way,
This DXB can be used for other situations like a quick way from 3D to 2D too...
Which I believe the AutoDesk site promotes ... on their "help tips".

Also DXB has been available since A12 or A11.
